Our two First Lego League teams, the ‘Paranoid Androids’ and ‘Automaton’ travelled to Brisbane to compete in the Brisbane Regional Tournament. The event was held at the Queensland Academy of Maths, Science and Technology in Toowong. Despite the COVID-safe limitations to the event, it was a fantastic day. Both teams performed brilliantly.

The ‘Paranoid Androids’ won the Champion Award for the Innovation/Research Project. (They’ve developed a concept for the development of ‘Pop-up Playgrounds’.) The judges commented that their presentation was. “Simply outstanding and awesome!”

Team ‘Automaton’ won the Champion Award for their Core Values. The team clearly impressed the judges with their teamwork and inclusivity.

Both teams’ robotics and coding skills were praised by the judges throughout the competition.

The fantastic news meant that BOTH teams progressed to the Northern National Final to compete against all the other regional champion teams from throughout Queensland.

Congratulations teams!   Thank you to the parents for all your support !  Mr Waugh High Potential Learner Coordinator
